I’ve been taking a look at collaborative tools recently. There are a number of social intranets available, like Podio and Bitrix24. But KnowledgePlaza (KP) is a bit different: it makes it easy to collect, share and use information, rather than being oriented at project management.
For example, in this post, Gregory from KP added my website to my workspace:
KP turns the web page into a PDF and stores it. It can do the same for office files and many other file formats. You can add structured tagging for easy browsing. Even better: KP keeps versions of your files, so you can go back in history to find older versions if needed.
The result is a knowledge base that is easily searched and browsed. Sharing your knowledge is easy, too. Being a social intranet, your co-workers can immediately see what you’ve added. But you can also send out newsletters by dragging and dropping content into it.
There is currently an explosion of collaboration tools on the Internet. I’m starting to use Medium because it’s well suited for longer form articles. For collaboration, I mentioned Podio and Bitrix24 above. It’s nice to see a Belgian company joining the fray with a very specific solution for knowledge management. You can register here for Sphere, KP’s online workspace.
